Hi everyone. I'm sure many of you have already received the attached information through your many Pacific Islander collagues and networks, but it never hurts to be reminded about exciting opportunities like this:

REACH US – Promoting Access to Health for Pacific Islander and Southeast Asian Women (PATH for Women), a breast and cervical cancer program working to address disparities among Asian and Pacific Islander communities, is offering the PATH for Women Scholarship Fund to 5 Pacific Islander* high school seniors and/or undergraduate college students who demonstrate significant merit in academics, workplace, and community with an interest in the health field.

High school seniors and students who are currently or will be attending a two- or four-year institution that offers accredited, post‐secondary instruction may apply. Applicants must be of Pacific Islander descent* and must reside in Orange County, Los Angeles County or San Diego County OR attend a college or university in one of these counties. Low income students and those who are of the first generation in their family to attend college are encouraged to apply. Note that these scholarships are offered to young Pacific Islander women who reside both within and outside Southern California, provided that they are currently attending or will be attending an accredited 2-yr or 4-yr post-secondary educational institution in Southern California (Orange, Los Angeles or San Diego County) this Fall.

Postmark deadline for these applications is Monday, July 20th. Please distribute this information widely, and if you know of any young women who may be interested in applying for one of these 5 scholarships, please pass this information directly on to them. Detailed information and contacts are provided in the attached PDF document.

*Pacific Island descent – Chamorro/Guamanian, Chuukese, Marshallese, Palauan or other Micronesians; Fijian, Solomon Islander, Vanuatuan or other Melanesians; Native Hawaiian, Samoan, Tahitian, Tongan or other Polynesians, and other indigenous Pacific Islander groups.
